虛無的力量

　　《無愛繁殖》談得是現今人類社會感知到生命衰老的沉重，無力去愛的狀態。在前年看過《一座島嶼的可能性》後，我已經感受到某種程度的「韋樂貝克式衝擊」；在讀了《無愛繁殖》後，兩本書之間因此有了清楚的連結：人類社會走向悲哀後，產生一種「形而上」的改變，因此發展出無愛無恨的複製人，現今的我們也將隨著複製人的出現而毀滅，人類的新社會將達到某種程度上的平靜與愉悅，有點類似佛教的「西方極樂世界」。

　　在人類社會達到「無愛繁殖」之後，由複製人組成的社會竟開始思考其生命的意義，並試著了解他們的第一代(也就是現代的我們)的愛的過程，新一代的複製人藉此開始探索他們意象出的、富有可能性的「一座島嶼」。那座島嶼也許是愛、是恨，是人類社會衰頹的根源，卻也可能是現代人最難以忍受的原始情感之面貌。

　　對我來說，一本好書的定義是：在蓋上書頁後能感受到某種揪心，或是帶來內心迴盪的意念，甚至可以察覺出看這本書之前的我，與其之後的我的差異。米榭˙韋勒貝克著實在我心中，劃下一筆痕跡。
